Industrial maintenance technologists work in all sectors of the industry— at oil refineries, natural gas and equivalent processing plants, well location pads, sales meter points, pipelines, and compressor stations.

The responsibilities of an industrial maintenance technologist include:

  • Assembling, installing, and repairing mechanical, HVAC, rigging, hydraulics, and electrical control systems
  • Performing general maintenance
  • Reading blueprints
  • Welding

  • Work inside at plant facility or outside at well site or pipeline locations
  • May work alone or as part of a team

Typical Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • 10 hours a day
  • Some overtime and weekends
  • Occasionally on call for holidays
