Floorhands perform general labor tasks in support of drilling or well servicing.

At a drilling rig, floorhand responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the connection and disconnection of pipes
  • Cleaning and maintaining rig equipment and drilling floor
  • Operating the mud pump
  • Assisting other crew members
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures
